What is ssh and how do I use it? was created by admin
When the raspi is networked a secure remote terminal connection is available if it was configured with
raspi-config
(raspi model B version has an on-board ethernet connection)
Do the following to connect:
1 download a ssh client such as putty to another computer on the network;
2 obtain the raspi hostname or ip address from the router or by running
ifconfig
on the raspi;
3 do:
ssh pi@
or use putty and fill in the fields on the remote computer;
4 login by providing your credentials such as the default password
raspberry
5 remember that if the raspi crashes the ssh server will not start and you will not be able to connect.
